On Tuesday’s live episode of The Starters, the guys discuss the Blazers’ “statement win,” LMA’s knee vs. Roy’s “Hibberts,” Duncan’s historic night, that insane triple overtime game, Trey Burke, and the Wizards’ starters compared to their bench.

All that, plus Brent Barry joins us, in studio, to critique Leigh’s shooting stroke, before talking about intentionally missing free throws, coaching gamesmanship, and Spike Lee movies.

Skeets, I feel your pain on the shotclock violations. The NBA should implement an advantage rule similar to that used in soccer:

Australian rules football example (for Leigh): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q4ps2TxVYRg

The league understands this, but the games would be too short without all the stoppages.

People aren’t happy paying 200$ for an hour and half basketball show

Good point. It might do that if they played advantage on every foul, but shotclock violations are an infrequent enough occurrence that I don’t think it would affect game length that much. The increase in fast breaks and open court play that would result from using an advantage rule on shotclock violations would more than offset the marginal decrease in game length.

Easiest way to miss a free throw – line up, take 1 step to the right, shoot normal free throw. Works every time.
