On Friday’s live episode of The Starters, the guys discuss why Reggie Jackson and the Thunder have the Spurs’ number, Serge Ibaka’s defense, Brandan Wright, Blake’s passing, ‘Zo and Richmond heading to the Hall, Clyde-isms, and Vivek Ranadive’s plan to fix tanking. That, plus Worst of the Week, Tweet of the Week, and our Top 10 Plays. Embrace the weekend, people.
Shoutout: Blake Griffin notched his first triple-double of the season, meaning he had at least 10 of each points, rebounds and assists. In fact, he had 25, 10 and 11 of those, respectively, all of which are quality numbers. The Clips didn’t win, however, but that’s not important for this entry.
Not so much: I guess Tony Parker sucks now? Six points on 3-10 shooting for the Frenchman, which is the third time in the last five games that he’s scored fewer than 10 points on 30 percent or less shooting. Something tells me that absolutely no one should be concerned about this.
Immensity: Brandan Wright was really good last night. These two plays were the apex.
Eight points, three rebounds, an assist, a steal and a block in 16 minutes for Wright, who left the Clippers looking pretty confused on a bunch of fourth quarter pick-and-rolls. Poor timing for the already-futile DeAndre Jordan for DPOY campaign.
