We’re off tomorrow, so enjoy the ten best plays of the past six days. Not week, mind you, almost-week.
On Thursday’s live episode of The Starters, the guys discuss the Knicks’ winning streak, Paul George’s struggles, resting LeBron, a rejuvenated Deron Williams, and Ricky Rubio’s triple-double (and love of ice cream). That, plus our Least Improved Players, Steph screens, deodorant, Uncle Cliffy, Worst of the Week, and our Top 10. See you Monday, team.
Shoutout: Which is more shocking to you — that Ricky Rubio had a triple-double or that Ricky Rubio scored 22 in a game? Well, both things are true, so pick your jaw up off the floor. The Timberwolves won a one-point overtime game against the Mavericks too, just in case your “I know what’s going on” meter was still properly functioning.
Not so much: 17 points on 4-17 shooting for Paul George, who didn’t make things much better by adding four turnovers to his terrible shooting night, three assists and eight rebounds in the Pacers’ loss to the Knicks. And even though 4-17 is really bad, it somehow felt even worse while watching. He looked really bad.
Nice pop: Phil Jackson in da house!
The Knicks are now undefeated in the Phil Jackson Era, and they even went on a huge run while Lisa Salters was chatting up the newest New York savior. Obviously, this is going to work perfectly from here on out.
